With this new position, Athena Mae Imperial becomes the official representative of Philippines to attend the biggest beauty contest Miss Earth 2011 at Manila, Philippines on 3rd December. It was originally scheduled to be held at the Impact, Muang Thong Thani, Bangkok, Thailand. However the pageant organizers decided to move the pageant back to the Philippines due to the Massive flooding in Thailand.
When asked Athena that what lessons did you learn from your childhood/growing years, she replied that First and foremost is to put God above all things, Second is to be concerned of my surroundings and environment and Third is to be unselfish.
When asked what is your environmental advocacy, Athena replied, "I stand against global warming. In our little ways, we can show our fight against this pressing environmental issue. Among these significant small acts are unplugging appliances and switching off lights when they are not in use, not burning fuel, and avoiding excessive emission of carbon dioxide. We are among the contributing factors of global warming but we can be a part of the solution to address this environmental problem."
